November 2021 Music News: KHEMMIS, DUNCAN EVANS/WILDERNESS HYMNAL, and More

Hello, fine readers! Here are some tidbits from across the internet that Ye Olde Editor is personally excited about this month…

Okay, this one is technically from October, but my favorite folk punk family band Black TarPoon released the album Probable Caws on Halloween. Have a listen!

Our columnist Duncan Evans is preparing to release his split album with Wilderness Hymnal, Until Liars Fear Us. Coming out November 5th via Trepanation Recordings, it’s a work of dark folk that celebrates the spirit of hope in spite of its melancholy tones. Standout tracks: “Mouse Mask” and “I Buried My Teeth.”

I already have my digital copy preordered and it will appear in my bandcamp collection this Friday! Be one of the cool kids:

I was also pleased to find out a song we premiered for the band HiJack, “Patient Zero (2020),” was just released on video via Metal Insider! Check out the video below:

And I’m personally very excited for Khemmis to release their fourth album, Deceiver, on November 19th via Nuclear Blast. Full review coming soon!

Also happy for our friends Dust Prophet, who have a revamped lineup and will be releasing the Dracula-inspired single “Hourglass” on December 31st, premiering on the mighty Decibel Magazine.

The end of 2021 is shaping up to be a good one in Alternative Control’s corner of underground music! What are you looking forward to for the rest of this year?
