They may bill themselves as the most disappointing band in Connecticut’s metal scene, but Lightsbane is actually pretty fucking good. While the Alternative Control staff members are hardly neutral parties, we’ve described them over the years as “face-melting,” “luxurious and jeweled,” and also “one of Connecticut’s best and most consistent metal acts.” But don’t take our word for it – have a listen to their track “The Long Night,” which will be featured on our upcoming compilation album, Quality Control Volume 2. (And if you like it, you can download it for free!)
One thing that Lightsbane does well is getting themselves in front of many different audiences; they maintain a relentless gigging schedule that has them playing in state several times a month and out of state quite often as well. Speaking of which, the boys are trekking down to Championship Bar and Grill in Trenton, New Jersey on Tuesday, 9/2 to open for Arsis, Allegaeon, and Exmortus! Talk about an amazing lineup!
